My AfroTech 2025 Experience: Tech, Talent & Turning Up in Style
Last year, I had the amazing opportunity to attend AfroTech 2025 as part of my company’s official delegation—and let me just say, it did not disappoint. From leading conversations at our corporate booth to becoming a certified Agentblazer Champion (yes, we buildin’ bots out here 💁🏾♀️), AfroTech was equal parts innovation, connection, and Black excellence.
Representing My Company at the Expo Center
One of the highlights of the week was working our corporate booth at the AfroTech Expo. I connected with dozens of recent grads and early-career professionals who were so eager to break into tech, consulting, and project management.
Many came with résumés in hand, ready to talk about their skills and ask for advice on how to navigate the tech world as a Black professional. I loved being able to represent my company and offer insight into what we look for, how to stand out, and why representation at events like this matters.
🔍 Pro tip: If you're attending AfroTech to job hunt or network, don’t be shy—come prepared with your elevator pitch, questions, and your LinkedIn QR code ready to go!
From Booth to Build: AgentBlazer Champion Mode Unlocked
Another standout moment? I had the chance to join Salesforce’s AgentBlazer sessions, where I not only learned about the platform, but actually built and deployed my own website-based agent—live and in session.
By the end of the workshop, I walked out a newly minted AgentBlazer Champion, with hands-on experience and a shiny badge to show for it. If you’re in tech or adjacent to it, this is the type of skill-building experience that’s worth making time for.
It was a reminder that we should always be learning, especially in spaces designed to pour into us.
The Vibes Were Premium: Networking, Beauty & Black Brilliance
Now let’s get into the events—because the energy was unmatched!
I attended several brand-sponsored experiences, including:
TripAdvisor Networking Mixer I dropped in here to chat tech and travel. I loved the experience and the DJ, free food and beverages were welcomed
Fenty Beauty Lounge (they were handing out full-size products, okay?! Rihanna doesn’t play 💅🏾)
Salesforce Happy Hour that blended fun, tech talk, and career growth all in one space
Every event felt intentional—from the guest lists to the environments. It wasn’t just about mingling, it was about building real connections that stretch beyond the conference.
Know Before You Go: AfroTech Travel & Planning Tips
If you’re planning to attend AfroTech 2026, here’s what I wish someone told me ahead of time:
💡 Book your hotel EARLY—and stay close to the convention center.
Hotels in the area fill up fast and surge pricing is real, so don’t wait until the last minute. The closer you are, the easier your mornings will be.
🚗 Plan for Lyft, Uber, or Waymo rides in advance.
Most networking events and pop-ups are scattered across different parts of the city—not just downtown. Having reliable transportation is essential if you want to make the most of your experience.
🌆 Don’t stay cooped up downtown after hours.
Downtown gets quiet in the evening, so explore local restaurants, lounges, and activities in surrounding neighborhoods. There’s so much culture and fun outside the main footprint.
🗓️ Check the AfroTech website often.
Partner events sell out FAST. As soon as RSVPs go live, lock in your spot. And make sure your schedule has some breathing room—some of the best moments are the ones you stumble into.
Final Thoughts: AfroTech Is the Moment—Don’t Miss It
AfroTech isn’t just a tech conference. It’s a movement. It’s a space where Black professionals, creatives, founders, and leaders gather to connect, collaborate, and celebrate each other.
Whether you’re there to hire, get hired, grow your skills, or just soak up the energy—you’ll leave better than you came.
Already counting down to AfroTech 2026 👏🏾
